The fullness of nothingness

  • Willem de Kooning Academie Rooterdam (map)

First day at school. Not really school-school, but you get it: new group, new trajectory, new adventure. The first day is in-betweenness and the arrival to the new status takes time. Let’s transition together! It is the perfect opportunity to set intentions, pose open questions that will walk with you (and most probably led you to the point we are here and now), choose yourself anew. Knowing where you come from to not know.

This is an invitation to share time and space, before taking-in content, and producing responses, to observe our perception and the languages we choose to translate the imprints, distilling what wants to be expressed. We will follow impulses with improvisation mind, be permeable, take initiative, follow others, have ownership over a simple task – play together for the sake of pleasure.

“... Attending to the emptiness that precedes our actions. There, everything could happen, since now nothing does.... Laid open at our feet, the field of latent potentialities, buzzing. The fullness of nothingness.”

(Julien Bruneau, Field)
